Wine: 589 "Lavoréit" White
Alcohol Content: 13% vol.
Description: The name 589 derives from the year our town was likely founded under its current name, Roveredo in Piano, as recorded in 1589. "Lavoréit," on the other hand, is the name of Roveredo in Piano in the Friulian/Venetian dialect and refers to our white wine made from disease-resistant grape varieties.
The wine is produced from white grapes grown from varieties resistant to fungal diseases. These grape varieties are the result of ongoing research by the Rauscedo Cooperative Nurseries (Pordenone) and a selection process—underway for several decades—involving crosses between classic wine varieties and hybrid American and Asian grapevine varieties resistant to fungal diseases. The advantage of these grape varieties is the minimal number of treatments required and the resulting low environmental impact of their cultivation.
Grapes: Sauvignon Nepis, Soreli, and other disease-resistant white grape varieties.
The harvested grapes are left to cold-macerate for about one day; the must is then separated from the skins and left to ferment for 10–12 days. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for several months.
